1959 Broadmoor Skyview
The Broadmoor Skyview was built by Superior Coach, Lima, Ohio, on a Cadillac commercial chassis. Six were produced for the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they were used for VIP transportation, replacing a fleet of 1955 and 1956 Cadillac observation coaches.
The cars were built on a 156-inch wheelbase and were 251 inches overall in length, providing stretch-out comfort and a limousine style ride. With the flamboyant beauty of a 1959 Cadillac, extra-wide doors and plenty of interior height, the Skyview offered executive transportation for eight Broadmoor guests and luggage. Plexiglass observation roof panels offered extraordinary views of area scenery. Leather seating was standard along with power steering, power brakes, a 390 cubic-inch V-8 engine, and gold-plated “Broadmoor” emblems on the iconic `59 fins.
The restored model displayed is the best of the six produced and is owned by Robert Waldock
